Forty-three members of the Batavia High School/Great Oaks chapter of Business Professionals of America (BPA) recently qualified for state competition.

Competitive events are an integral part of BPA. The goal of the program is to provide all business students with the opportunity to demonstrate workplace skills learned through their business management classes. During competitions, students demonstrate business competencies and expand leadership and human relations skills.

State qualifiers are: Alex Hall and Matt Winkler – Banking and Finance; David Flandermeyer – Economic Research Individual; Nidhi Patel – Personal Financial Management; Jessica Noschang and Tallulah Hauck – Fundamental Word; Lily Boerger and Riley Shelton – Intermediate Word; Hailey Slaughter – Advanced Word; Abbie Broussard – Basic Office Systems; Cienna Koeppe – Advanced Office Systems; Sam Auth and Morgan Tepe – Fundamental Spreadsheets; Breana Rivero – Advanced Spreadsheets; Aerianna King and Abdus Rehmani – Legal Procedures; Jenna Mullis – Administrative Support Research; Ryan Evans and Ryan Brose – Business Law and Ethics; Dylan Sheeley – Digital Media Production; Gavin Brookbank and Max Mehlman – Video Production Team; Bryce Eads, Carson Harris, Marcus Hughbanks and Parker Klos – Global Marketing Team; Lucas Filla and Avery Hauck – Small Business Management Team; Preston Young – Interview Skills; Aidan Duh – Advanced Interview; Suhani Patel – Human Resource Management; Ryley Hare – Ethics and Professionalism; Sami Reardon – Prepared Speech; Alex Collier – Presentation Management Individual; Isaiah Filla and Isaac Menke – Presentation Management Team; Octavia Kelch and Paige Collier – Medical Diagnostic Coding; Kyla Sauter and Mikayla Eisen – Health Insurance and Medical Billing; CJ Devore and Reva Reil – Health Administrative Procedures; and Alexis Schmidt – Health Research Presentation.

The qualifiers will travel to Columbus for competition March 6th -8th where they will have the opportunity to qualify for national competition in Chicago, IL May 9th – 14th, 2024.

Business Professionals of America (BPA) is the leading student organization for members pursuing careers in business, information technology and other related careers. Students are enrolled in the Great Oaks business management satellite program at Batavia High School.
