At West Clermont Schools, January is a time of celebration – for the new year ahead and in recognition of our school board. This month is School Board Recognition Month, and we are excited to honor this essential group of individuals who play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our schools.

School board members serve as a bridge between the community and the classroom. They are the voice of the people, working diligently to ensure that the decisions made are in the best interests of students, staff, parents, and our taxpayers.

Their responsibilities go beyond the boardroom. They establish the policies that serve as a framework for our schools to function effectively. These policies touch every aspect of our educational system, from curriculum development to budget allocation, and they help shape the educational experience for our students. In essence, their work ensures we are Launching Our Next Generation, the theme of this year’s School Board Recognition Month. Their work also helps us meet West Clermont’s vision: Together as one community, we Learn. Lead. Succeed.

This year marks a new beginning for the West Clermont Board. Board elections take place every two years, and we are excited to welcome two new members: Tammy Spencer and Tina Sanborn. Treasurer Dan Romano swore in both at our organizational meeting on Jan. 4. Additionally, Ryan Patton was elected president and Jim Rudy was elected vice president for 2024. These appointments set the stage for a year of progress, leadership, and educational excellence in our district.

I hope you’ll take a moment this month – and throughout the year – to recognize and thank our Board of Education. On behalf of those at West Clermont, thank you to our Board of Education for your service.
