Scoring 1,000 points at the high school level requires consistency. It’s very difficult to reach that milestone if a player only contributes to varsity for two or even sometimes three years. Often times it takes getting on the score sheet consistently throughout their four-year high school career. Reaching the milestone also requires being a “go-to guy” or at least somewhere close to that. Goshen senior guard Caden Zeinner has checked those boxes during his time as a student-athlete, and during a Dec. 22, 2023, matchup against Blanchester, he became just the fifth player in program history to score 1,000 points. I caught up with Caden as well as head coach Miles Burton to get their thoughts on the historic night, the outlook for the rest of the season, and more!
Interview with Caden:
Q: What does reaching the 1,000-point milestone mean to you?
A: It means a lot. It has been something I’ve always wanted to achieve since I was younger. Was for sure a dream come true.
Q: Is there anyone you would like to thank for helping you get to where you are today?
A: My parents. They have always done everything they can for me. They have supported me ever since I was young and always made sure to make it to every single one of my games no matter how far away the game is.
Q: Tell me a little bit about the game where you scored your 1,000th point. What was it like sharing that moment with your teammates and home crowd?
