A Hamilton Safe employee who was found trapped under a safe door was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to information from Union Township Police Department Criminal Investigations Division Supervisor, Sergeant Ken Mullis on Feb. 1, the UTPD and Fire Department personnel responded to a workplace accident at Hamilton Safe, located in the 1000 block of Round Bottom Rd. in Milford.
That’s where first responders located a male employee who was trapped under a safe door.
The victim, later identified to the public as John Earhart, 59, of Batavia, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Detectives from the UTPD along with the Cincinnati office of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are conducting an investigation.
