Howdy folks—I stopped at the Shepherd’s Place and they had a lot of groceries sent to them. They are doing a super job of taking care of the school kids. They teach them about the Bible and give them food.

One lady that was here noticed all the red birds that come to my feeder and said it was a sign that loved ones in heaven we’re watching over me. I had never heard this, but that would be a good sign.

I talked to the Boar’s Head Bait Shop in Afton and Mike is in Tennessee on vacation fishing. Wendy said the crappie are biting real good in East Fork. They tell me you should use small minnows for bait. You might catch a lot of crappie, channel catfish, and bluegills. There are some big fish being caught including stripers and musky. They tell me some of the crappie are in the 10 to 12 inch class. Wow!

This weather as I write my article is beautiful. The farmers have a golden opportunity to get their crops harvested. I talked to Jason Grant and he is having good luck combining his beans. He has about 175 acres of corn to shell still but with the dry weather that is helping it dry.

I talked to Cedar Lake today and the lady said they stocked fish this week. One was a 105-pound blue catfish and a bunch of trout that were 5 to 7 pounds each. The catfish broke the scales. There was a big crowd there fishing. Remember they are closed on Wednesdays.

Mr. and Mrs. Shamblin took me down to Poochie’s on Thursday for dinner, or lunch as you call it. There was a big crowd there and lots of people saying hello. When I got to the door some of them opened the door for me. I sure thank them. The food was excellent as usual.

I have a Grange meeting this evening. The Lytles will pick me up and take me over to the meeting. The Grange will be furnishing a Thanksgiving meal for a family and the Lions Club will be furnishing a meal in the Bethel School area. We do this each year. It is important to share. That is what the good Lord wants us to do.  Since I can’t go and purchase the Thanksgiving meal to give out this year, Carolyn Corbin will take care of it and deliver it on Thanksgiving Day.

I went and picked up the paper for a fellar that is having problems walking like me.

I do this each Saturday morning and then went to the Living the Word Church to say hello to the ladies that prepare food for folks. This was the first time I saw a sign that said if you want to eat inside or get it brought to you outside. The church does a super job looking after people with food and a fine preacher.

The Bethel Historical Society was purchased from the Village of Bethel. The name is Bethel Historical Society and Museum, and it is on the corner at 100 South Main St., Bethel, Ohio. They have displays including military, Edmund Burke alcove, early settlers, Bethel Tate School, CG&P Railroad, Bethel businesses, prominent citizens including Steven Newman and others. If you have never been in the building, you are missing something.

Start your week by praying and praising the good Lord.

God bless all . . .
