The Goshen Local School District Board of Education approved Mrs. Ashley Andrews as the new Principal of Spaulding Elementary School following the appointment of current Spaulding principal Mr. Tom Turner as the new Director of Student Services. Mr. Turner is transitioning to the role of Director as a result of the retirement of long time administrator Mrs. Nancy Spears.

Please join us in wishing Mrs. Nancy Spears much success in her retirement from Goshen Local Schools. During her time she served as High School Assistant Principal and High School Principal and most recently as Director of Special Education. Mrs. Spears has decided to retire on May 29th, 2020.

She has many activities she plans to fill her new found time with, gardening, traveling and caring for her expected grandchild.

The district would like to extend our thanks for her leadership, knowledge, and passion for the Goshen Local School District. We are going to miss you!

Mr. Tom Turner will be replacing Mrs. Spears.

He takes over this role after spending 8 years as Principal of Spaulding Elementary School.

Mr. Turner stated, “ I will miss the students, staff and day to day connections being principal provided, however I am excited and eager to serve the staff, students, and community in this new role. Besides, it’s nice to know that Spaulding isn’t that far away for a visit.”

Mrs. Ashley Andrews has more than 14 years of experience as an educator, most recently serving as Assistant Principal at Highland Elementary in the Hamilton City School District. Ashley earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton and a master’s degree from the University of Texas at El Paso. Mrs. Andrews has a passion for connecting her students with enriching activities and experiences.

As a former high school runner, she has enjoyed participating in Girls on the Run. In her spare time, Ashley enjoys being with her two children who love to be outdoors—the Cincinnati Nature Center is a favorite family hangout. Originally from northeast Ohio, Ashley has called Texas, Georgia, and Tennessee home, but has been happily settled in the Cincinnati area with her family for the last six years.

“From everything I have witnessed and researched Goshen Local Schools is the place to be. There is a focus on culture, which includes a whole child focus that is supported by technology and a love of learning. I see amazing kids, an incredible community, and a phenomenal group of educators that are truly working hard to grow greatness. I am sincerely honored to be joining the Warrior family. Definitely having my first #WarriorUp moment and I am looking forward to experiencing many more!” Mrs. Andrews said.
