Tyler Seng died in the afternoon on Nov. 25.

Around 1:50 p.m., Seng was driving a 2007 Honda CBR 600 sound on Laurel Lindale Road, near the intersection of Carnes Road, when he crashed into a 2005 Honda Pilot, driven by Barbara Hilt, age 46, as she was pulling out onto the road from a private driveway, according to a crash report from the Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Seng sustained serious injuries, and Monroe Township Emergency Medical Services transported him to a landing zone for Air Care, but Seng was pronounced dead by Air Care medical staff prior to transport.

Hilt was not injured and declined medical treatment at the scene, according to the report.

Seng had grown up in the New Richmond Exempted Village School District and was a junior in the high school’s virtual academy at the time of the crash, according to New Richmond High School Principal Mark Bailey.

The school district canceled all high school activities the evenings of Nov. 25 and Nov. 26, and the Clermont County Crisis Response Team was at the high school on Nov. 26 to help students and staff through the grieving process.

On Dec. 3, all classes in the school district were canceled so that students and staff members could pay their respects to Seng and his family; the public was invited to attend Seng’s funeral services, which were held in the high school gymnasium.

During the visitation, Seng’s open casket was surrounded by mourners, many of whom where outfitted in Green Bay Packers gear, representing Seng’s favorite sports team.

As the memorial service began, the crowds of people that had shown up to support the Seng family took their seats on the bleachers, and Connection Point Church Lead Pastor, and school board member, Robert Wooten took his place behind a podium that had been set up in the middle of the gym to deliver Seng’s eulogy.

Yellow and green balloons, representing Seng’s favorite sports team, the Green Bay Packers, filled the school hallway.

“Here in New Richmond, we live in a very small knit community, and one hurts, we all hurt, and that’s OK, because that’s what community is all about,” he said.

Wooten spoke about Seng’s love of playing football, wrestling and baseball.

“He loved to hunt, to fish, and was probably best known for being a real jokester,” he said, adding, “He will be greatly missed and pleasantly remembered.”

Wooten left the crowd with four words to take away from the experience – remember, reflect, relish and resolve.

Seng’s obituary, provided online by Evans Funeral Home, reads partially:

“Tyler William Seng, beloved son of Raymond M. Seng III and Jaqualynn “Jackie” (nee Trimble) Seng; loving brother of Brittany Seng, Jordyn Seng and Jacob Seng; cherished grandson of Gigi Gardner and Scott & Tonya Trimble; great grandson of Clystie Whisman and Donald Trimble; dear nephew of Tracy & Leon Donley, Savannah & Chas Hill, Philip & Britany Gardner, Todd & Ashley Cooper, Steve Seng and Zachary Seng; cousin of Haili Donley, LJ Donley, Bailey Hill, Kaden Gardner, Kaleb Gardner, Graci Gardner, Landon Cooper, McKenzie Cooper, Kelsey Cooper and Aries Donley; and a multitude of friends.”
