Emily Morehouse, who recently completed her third year of veterinary education, was honored at the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine’s annual awards program in May with a scholarship.

Morehouse is the daughter of Mr. Tim Morehouse and Mrs. Sherry Morehouse of Amelia, Ohio.

Morehouse was a recipient of the Dr. Frances Joan Masser Scholarship.

Morehouse graduated from Amelia High School, Batavia, Ohio, in 2012.

She then attended The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, earning a health sciences bachelor’s degree in 2016.

Morehouse is the president of the Illinois Student Chapter of the Association of Shelter Veterinarians.

The College of Veterinary Medicine is one of only 30 veterinary schools in the United States.

The veterinary medicine curriculum is a four-year program leading to a doctoral degree.
