Joshua Kauffman: To the Milford HS ‘19 graduates

To the Milford High School Class of 2019,

What a wonderful and amazing journey it has been! All of the hard work, late nights, hard practices, wins and losses, and trials and tribulations have led you to the moment when you spread your wings and fly off into a world filled with possibilities and wonder.  All you have done, all you have worked for should leave you feeling proud for you have accomplished much!

Over four years, you have demonstrated your willingness and desire to leave Milford High School better than you found it in the fall of 2015. This year, we emphasized that all that we do, all that we work for, is #AllForTheM. That simple hashtag speaks so precisely to your class. It seems that everything you did, everything you touched, everything you set your mind to was about something bigger than yourself – it was about Milford High School.

It was amazing to host the first home football playoff game in school history, and to lead the first ever Hope Squad at Milford High School, but in those and countless other experiences, you did them not just for yourselves, but for your school and community. You rallied around the teachers who, during your senior year, battled tremendous health challenges. You raised tens of thousands of dollars for causes and organizations that directly impact our school and community. You lifted each other up in moments of tragedy or hardship. You wore red as though it was the only color you could see. Everything you did was #AllForTheM!

Four years ago, you and I began our time at Milford High School together. The MHS Class of 2019 will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for your kindness, your smiles, your laughter, your competitiveness, your talent, and most importantly, for all you gave to Milford High School. The Class of 2019 did it #AllForTheM and for that your school is forever indebted to you.

Well done, Class of 2019!

Your Principal,
Mr. Kauffman
