On Sunday June 3, 2018, at 4:00 PM the Clermont County Communications Center received a 911 call in reference to an Aggravated Robbery that occurred at the Family Dollar store located at 1230 SR 125, Batavia Township in Clermont County.

Sheriff’s Patrol units responded and discovered that a white male subject entered the store wearing jeans, dark-colored shirt and a red ball cap with unknown logo, brandished a knife and passed a note to the female clerk.

The suspect then went behind the counter and took the cash register containing an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect exited the store and entered a silver Volkswagen with damage to the right side. The vehicle was last seen travelling east bound on SR 125 towards Amelia.

There were 2 employees and several customers in the store at the time of the offense.

No one was injured.

Within minutes of the robbery, a motorist reported a reckless operating vehicle less than a mile away from Family Dollar that matched the suspect vehicle. Deputies located the suspect vehicle unoccupied behind a business and found the cash register from Family Dollar nearby. The Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit was requested to respond to the scene and assist with efforts to locate the suspect.

Detectives from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office also responded to process the scene and to interview witnesses.

The combined efforts have identified the suspect as Zachary Williamson of Amelia. A warrant has been issued for Zachary Williamson for one count of Aggravated Robbery, a felony of the first degree.

Williams remained at large until being captured on June 4, 2018.
