Letter to the Editor: Let us not forget our veterans this upcoming Memorial Day

Another Memorial Day is coming on us fast there will be lots to do this weekend. It’s the unofficial start of summer. Most pools and amusement parks will open; we will all get together with friends and family. Let’s not forget our Veterans that have gone before us. The ones that are still with us will be out in force this weekend too.

If you here a 21 gun salute or the playing of taps on the bugle in your home town this weekend you will know that the Veterans of The American Legion , The Ladies Auxiliary ,The Sons Of legionnaires, VFW ,DAV, Vietnam Veterans of America, are paying tribute to our fallen so if you know of a grave site near you home stop out and say thank you to the men and women that get up very early so we can make it back in time for all the Parades that will be happening.

Mt Carmel Post 72 has a big Parade that kicks off on St RT 125 and leads into Mt Moriah cemetery , Williamsburg Post 288 will have one that runs through town just to name a few.

So let me say, thanks to all the Veterans that have fought for our freedom and for the ones still with us that work hard to keep our spirits up year round.

Thank You from your friends At the American Legion of the 4th District of Ohio, Clermont County
