To promote community-oriented policing and foster education and understanding between police and the community, the Union Township Police Department would like to announce that it has begun accepting applications for its 14th Citizens’ Police Academy. The academy is free to the public and will run from 6 pm to 9 pm on consecutive Tuesday nights, starting August 14 through October 30, 2018. There are also two Saturday classes that run from 9 am to 12 p.m.
Classes will be held at the Union Township Police Department. Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and possess a valid driver license.
Applicants must submit to a comprehensive criminal history and background check. Criminal convictions may be grounds for exclusion.

The class will be limited to the first 25 successful applicants.
