With summer on its way, and school nearly out, parents might be thinking of the most efficient way to spend those lazy summer days, while kids will be thinking of how to have the most fun.
RiverStage Community Theatre of New Richmond is able to offer a unique way to spend some of that time: by joining the cast of a classic family comedy!
With a cast from age six to mid-50s, this comedic script about an efficiency expert, his wife, and twelve children living in New Jersey in the 1920s is the perfect fit for everyone in the family.
Though performance dates are scheduled in mid-September (venue and performance times to be announced later), RiverStage is auditioning before the schoolyear ends in order to build on the goodwill and word-of-mouth that grew following their well-received December run of “Miracle on 34th Street” in the New Richmond High School theater, and its cast of local, school-aged children.
Rehearsals will be scheduled to begin in the weeks following school letting out.
Additionally, RiverStage is pleased to announce it has engaged Gina Kleesattel of Cincinnati’s School for Creative and Performing Arts as the show’s director. Gina loves working with children in theatre, and “Cheaper” is among her favorite shows to direct!
Auditions will be held at Market Street School Auditorium, 212 Market St., New Richmond, OH 45157, Friday, May 18th @4:30-7:00pm, Saturday, May 19th @10am-2pm, and Sunday, May 20th 2-4pm, with cold readings from the script.
