Over 160 Shawnee State University students graduated at this year’s Fall Commencement Ceremony on Sat., Dec. 15th in the Vern Riffe Center for the Arts.
At this year’s commencement, there were 40 students who were graduating with a Master’s Degree, 75 with a Bachelor’s Degree, and 48 students with an Associate Degree. There were a total of 7 Summa Cum Laude, 7 Magna Cum Laude, 20 Cum Laude.
President Rick S. Kurtz gave the opening remarks speaking to the students, faculty and parents.
“With this degree from Shawnee State University, you have exhibited your commitment to knowledge and you are now equipped with the necessary tools to advance your careers,” said President Kurtz to the graduates. “Go out into the world and accomplish your goals and let the world benefit from your talents, gifts and knowledge.”
