The American Legion, Ladies Auxiliary, and Sons of the legionaries Each year go to our local high schools in each District to give our students a chance to show off the knowledge of America and our Government. This is no easy test by all means it consist of 50 questions from multiple choice to true and false and a hand written essay of no more than 300 words on the back. The essay is judged by Neatness, Proper Spelling and Punctuations. This is a big part of the grade since we could have a tie on the questions this give’s the students a chance to show off their talents and knowledge.
This Americanism and Government program is recognized as one of the outstanding youth programs in Ohio. This is in part thanks to our students, and staff at local schools, and post Americanism Officer Robert Lytle.
We would like to thank our partners at Batavia High school Councilor Nancy Herron and Vice Principle Tim Derickson for all the help with this American Legion Program. This program is important to all of us. Our Children are our future with staff like this they will grow into a valued part of society.
