On February 9, 2018, The Little Miami River Chamber Alliance held their annual Valentine Breakfast at the Oasis Conference Center, with more than 100 guests in attendance, including 12 Valentine Ladies and this year’s Valentine Escort.
The morning program recognized the 2018 Valentine Lady, Kay Bolin, and the Valentine Card Artist, Dr. Roland Boike, and, new this year, the Valentine Escort, Cory Partin. Kay Bolin shared her experience of being Valentine lady-including visiting local churches, nursing homes, and Loveland school-including visiting more than 1,100 students. Bolin also shared the story she wrote about love and kindness, based on a true story of a wild goose in Loveland.
“It’s been an absolute blast,” shared Bolin on her being this year’s Valentine Lady. “It’s been the most incredible experience. I’ve loved getting to share this story of love and kindness with the students, and have loved their reactions to it!”
The Loveland-Symmes Fire Department surprised the Valentine ladies with a dozen roses.
The LSFD is sponsoring and overseeing the construction of the Valentine Lane that will be constructed near Jackson Street Market honoring the Valentine Ladies and the Valentine Program’s history in Loveland.
The grand opening of Valentine Lane is scheduled for May 12.
