Academic achievement and a student’s physical/mental well-being are firmly linked in the life of a child. Students who experience chronic illness, physical inactivity, unhealthy eating, stress, anxiety, abuse, hunger, and other health-related conditions are less likely to experience academic success. We value the health and well-being of every child and their ability to achieve academically. That is why we are excited to announce our partnership with HealthSource of Ohio to open the Wolves Wellness School Based Health Center at West Clermont Middle School.

The School Based Health Center is designed to treat students and staff across the district. It will provide medical, vision and behavioral health services where and when it is most convenient to students, their parents, and the staff–during the school day. Transportation for students in the elementary schools and the high school will be provided by the district. The School Based Health Center will be staffed by medical professionals from HealthSource of Ohio that deliver primary care services including; screenings, managing chronic care conditions and treating short term illnesses. HealthSource of Ohio accepts most insurance plans including Medicaid and prides itself on providing quality health care to the entire community regardless of the ability to pay.

The Wolves Wellness School Based Health Center is scheduled to open February 5, 2018. Parents must enroll their student in the program in order for their child to be seen. Enrollment forms will be distributed in the coming weeks.

We look forward to the opening of the Wolves Wellness School Based Health Center and to removing the barriers for our students allowing them to be successful academically and healthy both physically and mentally. We believe that together, this partnership can create a healthier, happier community — one student at a time.
