On November 30, 2017, a team of eight students in eighth and ninth grade from Felicity-Franklin FFA competed at the district level for Novice Parliamentary Procedure. They had placed second in their sub-district and moved on to the district competition.

For the first time in 20 years, Felicity’s team placed first at district, ahead of seven other teams, and moved on to compete at the state competition.

They later took an online test for placement to prepare for State Preliminaries and placed 2nd in the state as a team. In preparation for the state-level contest, the team performed demonstrations for audiences in classrooms, on stages, and at the chapter Christmas Party. On Saturday, December 16, 2017, the team traveled to Ohio State University in Columbus to compete against teams from all over Ohio. Our team of eight presented a demonstration in front of an audience with judges.

They placed sixth in the state, only 12 points behind the fifth place team.

Felicity-Franklin FFA has high hopes for these students in the future, for CDEs, for academic success, and for future career success.
