The Ohio Small Business Development Center at the Clermont Chamber of Commerce (Clermont SBDC) will present six awards recognizing local businesses and organizations for business excellence. The awards will be presented at the Clermont Chamber’s Annual Meeting on February 9, 2018 (11:30 AM – 1:30 PM) at Holiday Inn & Suites, Eastgate.

Excellence in Customer Focus Award recognizes Everything Bagels as a business that successfully demonstrates a commitment to customers that consistently exceeds expectations. Everything Bagels is a locally owned and operated restaurant in Eastgate, proudly serving fresh bagels made on site, as well as sandwiches, soups, salads and desserts. The staff is friendly and sociable and the owner can often be found visiting with customers to solicit feedback on their dining experience. Everything Bagels is an active supporter of its surrounding community.

Emerging Excellence Award recognizes Anchor Fitness by Leah as a business with entrepreneurial spirit that is positioned for substantial growth in the near future. Anchor Fitness is a fitness business with a group training facility located in the heart of the Village of Batavia. The certified training staff offers customized functional and weight training sessions. Anchor Fitness prides itself on being both a gym and a community of like-minded members striving for long-term lifestyle changes.

Excellence in Innovation Award recognizes West Clermont School District as an organization demonstrating unique and inventive practices and procedures. The new West Clermont High School was built due to an innovative strategic plan between WCSD and Union Township. To make it a community-centered facility, WCSD also collaborated with Mercy Health and Midtown Health to develop the first known partnership between a school district, a medical system, and a club management company.

Excellence in Impact Award recognizes Pollution Control Systems, Inc. for growth and demonstrated economic impact within its industry. Pollution Control Systems, Inc. is a certified Woman-Owned Business Enterprise and an industry leader in supplying packaged wastewater treatment systems, related component equipment, and replacement parts. PCS is also recognized worldwide for its products and technologies for treating wastewater while meeting or exceeding the standards set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency and other regulatory agencies.

Community Engagement Award recognizes Batavia Township for implementing plans and initiatives that align businesses and individuals in order to enrich and enhance the larger community. Batavia Township brought the Reds Rookie Success League to Clermont County to provide an opportunity for children to be part of an educational and character-building program through baseball. Batavia Township, with the help of several local businesses and volunteers, organized the East Side Adventure Challenge as an annual community event that encourages fellowship and exercise.

Patriotism Award recognizes the Yellow Ribbon Support Center for contributing to the community in an outstanding voluntary, heroic, civil and benevolent manner. The Yellow Ribbon Support Center is an organization comprised of volunteers whose mission is to support our troops serving in harm’s way and to honor and remember those who did not return.

Through an alliance between its Foundation and charter partners, the YRSC also helps veterans gain access to public and private resources when returning to civilian life.
