The Batavia Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal traffic crash involving two vehicles.
The crash occurred on November 17th, 2017, at approximately 8:49 P.M. on Interstate Route 275 at milepost 60, in Union Township, Clermont County, Ohio.
Preliminary investigation shows that a 1996 Ford Ranger, operated by Billie S. Finnell, age 67, of Elsmere, Kentucky, was southbound on Interstate Route 275 when the vehicle became disabled and then came to a stop in the left lane. A 2008 Ford Focus, operated by Tanya L. Anderson, age 32, of Mason, Ohio, was traveling southbound on Interstate Route 275 and struck the Ford Ranger from the rear.
At the time the collision occurred, Ms. Finnell was standing outside at the front of her vehicle.
Ms. Anderson was transported to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Ms. Finnell was pronounced deceased at the scene on November 17th, 2017 by the Clermont County Coroner.
Alcohol and/or drugs are suspected to be a factor at this time.
The crash remains under investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol – Batavia Post.
