State Representative Doug Green (R-Mt. Orab) presented a resolution honoring the Williamsburg High School softball team as the 2017 Division IV State Champions.

The team’s victory marked the first ever state team championship for the school.

The women compiled an impressive 29-2 record over the course of the season, propelling them to the championship game where they beat Danville High School, 3-2.

“The members of this team are a tribute to their community,” Green said.

Green continued, “Their dedication, perseverance, teamwork and exceptionalism truly sets them apart and I was honored to host them at the Statehouse for this resolution.”

Green presented the resolution during the Ohio House session.

The team was joined by Head Coach Rick Healey and Assistant Coaches Jason Moore and Troy Brandon.
