The Williamsburg Harmony Hill Association and friends held “Pioneer Day” for the third grade students of Williamsburg Elementary School .This is an annual event and was sponsored this year by Duke Energy. On October 6th the students visited Harmony Hill, the homestead of Major General William Lytle, where they saw his dairy house, built in 1800. It is considered to be the oldest historical structure in Clermont County and is listed on the National Register of Historic Sites. They learned about the history of Williamsburg, visited the museum, saw a demonstration of wool spinning and weaving on an 1800’s barn loom and enjoyed other pioneer activities.
The mission of the Harmony Hill Association is to promote and preserve the history of Williamsburg and to educate the public about the rich history of the community. The museum is open to the public, free of charge, on the first Saturday of every month from 1:00 until 4:00 or by special appointment by calling (513)724-790 or (513) 724-7824.
