Tim and Kelli Back have been the owners and operators of Carstar of Amelia, located at 100 East Main Street in the village, since November of 2011.

The Backs themselves live in Bethel and are “enjoying getting to know our surrounding local communities,” Kelli said.

Owning, operating and working in a body shop has been something of a family business for the better part of four decades for Kelli’s family.

Kelli’s father, Gary Rains, has owned a body shop named Gary Rains Body Shop in Western Hills since 1978 and her brother, Kevin, also owns two locations, Carstar Center City in Norwood and Carstar West Chester.

“Our family of shops put honesty, integrity, and generosity first,” Kelli said. “We care for our customers, their cars and the world around us. We intend to do well (grow our business) so we can do good (for those in need).”

Kelli’s husband brings along an additional three decades of hands-on experience as a body and paint technician.

“Tim strives to give the highest quality of repairs to every vehicle that comes in our shop,” Kelli said.

And although Kelly herself is a registered nurse and has been since 1998, she has worked in the family shops throughout her life.

“I have always enjoyed working in the family business, from helping to wash cars and cleaning the office when I was young, to learning the accounting and expanding my knowledge in running production and growing our business,” she said.

Carstar employees six experienced technicians to help provide a slew of services including collision repair/auto body repair, towing assistance, rental car assistance, refinishing, frame and body repairs, along with lifetime warranties.

All of the staff are I-CAR certified, Kelli said.

The shop is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with Saturday availability by appointment only.
