Robin Irvin Barber, age 55, born on November 22, 1961, passed away suddenly in his home in Englewood, Florida, on Monday, May 1, 2017. Robin is survived by his beloved daughter Robin Haley Barber and son Riley Barber, and will be missed by the mother of his children, Amy Barber. Robin was beloved by his mother Peggy Jones and step-father Robert (Bipp) Jones, and his father Irvin Barber and late step-mother Melvia Barber. Robin is survived by his dear siblings Steven Barber (Litsa), Jennifer Gleason (Jim Lally), Peggy Barber, and John Barber; his step-siblings Mark Snider (Sue), Bruce Snider (Mindi), and April Snider; his long-time companion Charlene Dorio, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Known as ‘Robbie’ to his family and childhood friends and as ‘Robin’ to his adulthood friends, he grew up a star multi-sport athlete, scholar, and big personality in the small, close-knit town of Batavia, Ohio. Robin was a natural-born salesman and was in the business of sales for most of his life. Above all, Robin was a dedicated, loving father and a natural teacher of life’s truest values.
Robin was a one-of-a-kind person who loved life, was always the life of the party, and was well-known for his sense of humor and ability to tell a good story. Robin enjoyed being outdoors, especially in his backyard patio in Englewood, where he was often found relaxing or entertaining friends and family. Generous in every way, Robin opened his heart and his home to his family, friends, neighbors, and even the occasional stranger, although many would say that Rob never knew a stranger.
Robbie lived hard, loved hard, worked hard, and played hard and would want for all of us to live our lives in the same way. Robin Irvin Barber will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved him. Goodbye dear Father, goodbye dear Son, goodbye dear Brother, goodbye dear Companion, goodbye dear Uncle, goodbye dear Friend.
