Positive Leaps has opened its new Out Patient Counseling Center in Clermont County and is accepting new referrals. This expansion of services of effective mental health services for children and adolescents in the Eastgate area is conveniently located near I-275 and State Route 32.

Positive Leaps’ new Eastgate location supplements its flagship location in Liberty Township. The Out Patient Counseling Center provides mental health counseling for children through age 18 and addresses milder mental and behavioral symptoms. A family’s pediatrician is regularly updated on the child’s progress and other valuable clinical information.

Candidates for Out Patient Counseling typically function normally at home, preschool or school, but are in need of assistance regarding specific symptoms/behavior; the symptoms and progress are monitored by a licensed therapist who determines appropriate treatment level. In most cases, a child attends Individual Therapy once a week, and parents and other family members every other week, depending upon the needs of the child and his or her family.

About Positive Leaps

Celebrating five years of “helping children and their parents take a positive leap to better behavior at home, school and in the community,” Positive Leaps was founded by experienced health care professional Sheree Lynch. As a registered nurse, Sheree has provided a wide variety of health services to children of all ages. She has long been active in the Cincinnati area as an advocate for mental health and chemical dependency services for adolescents, and she recognized the need for early intervention services for youth with behavioral issues.

In addition to providing mental health assessment and counseling services to young children and their families, Positive Leaps supplies child behavior coaching for parents and training services to professionals throughout Greater Cincinnati. The flagship Liberty Township location also provides a specialized Day Treatment Program that uses proven, researchbased methods to help families who are discouraged by their child’s temper tantrums and aggressive behavior. Positive Leaps is accredited by CARF International for Day Treatment and Outpatient Mental Health Counseling regarding behavioral health for children and adolescents.
