Four athletes from the Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities attended the Special Olympics Ohio State Team Bowling Competition on Oct. 24.

Those competing were Tammy Carpenter of Pierce Township, Jackie Foy of Batavia Township, Rocky Arnett of Tate Township, and Delbert Witt of Goshen Township.

The team received the Silver Medal, placing second out of six teams from various locations in Ohio. The four-person team from Clermont County was under the direction of Angie Stanton, CCDD Activity Coordinator.

Special Olympics Ohio plans sporting events for over 23,000 athletes in the state. Those who participate receive services from agencies like CCDD as well as public schools, developmental centers, parks and recreation departments, churches, and community groups. State Team Bowling is held each fall for athletes interested in two- and four-person traditional teams, as well as Unified Teams which consist of an equal number of athletes with and without disabilities.
