Dear Editor,

Parks are our heritage, our public places, places to be active, places to reflect, a place that adds economic value to a neighborhood, provides ecological value and helps to preserve those spaces we hold in esteem. As the creeks, woods and fields become fewer and fewer the Parks preserve those areas for our public use.

The Clermont County Park District is asking you to consider a tax levy (Issue 15) on Nov. 8. In the past, the Park District has operated with incredible fiscal restraint and managed their operations well. In 2005 there were 230 acres of Clermont County Parks, by the end of this year there will be 1,100 acres. Today they have the same $587,000 budget they had in 2005.

The levy will provide them with funding to support and grow the Clermont County and Township Parks. The Park District has done an excellent job managing their financial resources and I encourage you to provide them funding to manage our natural resources. I encourage everyone to Vote for Issue 15 – Clermont Park District Levy on Nov. 8.
