The Southwest District Athletic Board announced girls’ volleyball first-round matchups on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016.
In Division I, Milford will begin play Kings at Lakota East on Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 7:30. Should the Lady Eagles advance, the team will earn a matchup at Talawanda on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 7:30.
Amelia and Glen Este will be at Sycamore High School for their first-round matchups. Glen Este will face Northwest at 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 17. The winner of that matchup advances to face St. ursula at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19. The Lady Barons face McAuley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18. The winner of that contest faces Lakota West on Oct. 20 at 7:30.
A trio of Division II teams will battle in Blanchester. Goshen earned a seven-seed for their efforts this season and will face off against Clinton Massie at 5 p.m. on Oct. 17. A Lady Warrior victory sets up a second-round contest against two-seed McNicholas High School. New Richmond drew a four seed and a first-round matchup against Woodward at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 17. The Lady Lions will face the winner of Indian Hill and Batavia on Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. The Lady Bulldogs open sectional play against the Lady Braves on Oct. 17 at 8 p.m.
Two Division III teams earned trips to Wyoming High School. Clermont Northeastern drew a six seed, and will face off against Deer Park on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 12:30 p.m. Bethel-Tate drew the 12th seed and a first-round matchup against Purcell Marian at 3:30 p.m. that same day.
The remaining pair of Clermont County squads compete at Mariemont High School. Williamsburg earned the top seed and a matchup against the Ripley Lady Blue Jays on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 3:30 p.m. Felicity-Franklin drew the eighth overall seed and a matchup against Lockland on Oct. 15 at 12:30 p.m.
