Entering the final two weeks of regular-season play, the New Richmond Lady Lions have set themselves up for back-to-back conference championships. The team currently sports an undefeated 6-0 record in the league, 1.5 games ahead of Western Brown.

Before they could add to that lead, the team had to endure a tough non-conference test against Clermont Northeastern. The Lady Rockets won the match in five sets on Sept. 27, 16-25, 25-16, 16-25, 26-18, 15-7. That same day, Batavia defeated Bethel-Tate 21-25, 25-17, 25-10, 25-13. Williamsburg continued to roll, earning a 25-19, 25-12, 25-15 victory over Amelia. Goshen defeated Felicity in three sets, 25-13, 25-16, 25-6.

In the Eastern Cincinnati Conference, Milford dropped a 13-25, 21-25, 16-25 decision to Loveland.

Goshen picked up a 3-1 win over Blanchester on Sept. 28, dropping the first set 25-23 but winning the next three 25-11, 25-12, 25-20.

The Lady Lions returned to their winning ways against Batavia on Sept. 29, dropping the Lady Bulldogs in a 25-10, 25-19, 25-16 match. Norwood won the first two sets against Amelia 25-16, 29-27, but the Lady Barons battled back, winning the next three sets 25-21, 25-20, 18-16 to win the match 3-2.

In the ECC, Milford won three close sets against Glen Este. The Lady Trojans won the first set 23-25, but dropped the next two 25-12, 25-13. After rallying for a 25-16 win in set four to tie the match, Milford won the fifth set 15-13 to earn the victory.

The Lady Wildcats defeated Batavia in the only county matchup on Oct. 3. Williamsburg won the first set 25-20, the second set 25-7 and the third 25-12.

Several teams will compete at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 6. Goshen visits Amelia, Norwood hosts New Richmond, Bethel-Tate battles Clermont Northeastern and Western Brown squares off against Batavia. Walnut Hills at Milford begins at 7 p.m.
