The Clermont County Board of Developmental Disabilities and the Clermont DD Empowers Me non-profit board will host a Lip Sync Battle on Oct. 1. This event is presented by Paradise Pavilion and Eastgate Brew and View.

Sponsors include Ohio Valley Goodwill and Park National Bank. Tickets are $25 each.

Those participating will perform their favorite song, in complete character and costume. The audience will have the opportunity to vote two weeks before the event and on that night as well. The performer with the most votes at the end of the night will be announced as the winner.

“We thought this would be a great way to engage the community while raising money for our Gift of Time Respite Cooperative,” said CCDD Superintendent Dan Ottke. “The focus, however, is on having fun!”

Votes are currently on sale for $1 each; the public can vote for any act and purchase as many votes as they wish. Both tickets and votes are available online at www.empowersmeboard.org.

Current performers are local businessmen and women whose goals are to entertain and impress the audience while raising money for CCDD services. Those currently performing are: Jana Beal of Park National Bank; Monica Royal-Fischer of UC Clermont; Don Bock, Minuteman Press; Heather Frye, Clermont Chamber of Commerce; and Dan Ottke, Superintendent of Clermont DD who will perform a duet with his wife, Liz.

Brad Toft is a past President and current member of the Clermont DD Empowers Me Board. He has been putting an act together for the Lip Sync Battle since the fundraiser was created. He and friends Daniel Bainum of General Electric and Jack Lennon of Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center are members of the Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati, AASR, which is a Masonic organization that supports many charities in the Cincinnati area. On the first Saturday of October, they will be raising awareness about the Scottish Rite while having fun at the Lip Sync Battle.

This event is being held on Oct. 1 at Paradise Pavilion, which is the premier event location at Jungle Jim’s Eastgate.

The Pavilion is located near the back entrance of Jungle Jim’s Eastgate and is an ‘up close and personal’ setting for the CCDD Lip Sync Battle. An appetizer bar will be catered by Eastgate Brew and View, with their carry-out menu available to any visitor attending the Lip Sync Battle.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 8 p.m.
