As teams in the Southern Buckeye Athletic and Academic Conference prepare for the second trip through their division, a few are battling out-of-conference foes.

Division play ended last week, though early on the teams were still battling for division control. On Sept. 13, Batavia rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Norwood 21-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-21, 15-13.

Williamsburg defeated Bethel-Tate 25-10, 25-8, 25-10 and Clermont Northeastern earned a 3-0 win over Felicity 25-13, 25-19, 25-23.

In American Division action, Western Brown defeated Amelia in three sets, 25-18, 25-22, 25-13.

Milford dropped a 3-2 decision to Walnut Hills, losing by scores of 25-13, 22-25, 14-25, 25-21, 7-15. Glen Este defeated Withrow in three sets, 25-5, 25-11, 25-7.

One day later, the Felicity Cardinals earned their first win of the season, defeating St. Bernard 25-17, 28-26, 25-23.

Cross-division play in the SBAAC resumed on Sept. 15. Batavia defeated Georgetown 3-1, winning sets 21-25, 25-21, 25-13, 25-13.

Williamsburg defeated Goshen 25-23, 25-13, 25-14, and Amelia earned a 25-11, 23-25, 25-21, 25-7 victory over Bethel-Tate. Clermont Northeastern won a close match against Norwood 25-18, 25-23, 26-24.

In the ECC, Milford lost 3-2 to Kings by scores of 25-22, 16-25, 25-17, 12-25, 11-15.

Felicity was the only local squad in action on Sept. 16. They visited Eastern Brown and lost the match 3-1.

Several local teams took to the court on Sept. 17. Williamsburg defeated Cincinnati Christian in a tri-match, winning 26-24 and 25-12. They also defeated Mars Hill Academy 25-18, 25-14.

New Richmond lost to CHCA 17-25, 25-18, 23-25 in the first of two matches. They dropped the second to Indian Hill 21-25, 17-25 for their first two losses this season.

Bethel-Tate was swept by Summit Country Day, losing by scores of 15-25, 13-25, 10-25. In the ECC, Milford won the first two sets over Little Miami 25-17 and 25-16, but the Panthers rallied to win the next three 25-20, 25-19, 16-14. Glen Este defeated Sycamore 25-15, 25-12, 25-14.

Five local teams rounded out the week with a match on Sept. 19. Bethel-Tate defeated Finneytown 25-16, 25-23, 25-14. Williamsburg earned a three-set win over New Richmond, 25-21, 25-13, 25-22, while CNE defeated Fayetteville 25-22, 25-6, 26-24.

Most teams return to the court on Thursday, Sept. 22. Goshen hosts Georgetown for a 5 p.m. start, while Batavia’s home match against Blanchester will begin at 6 p.m.

New Richmond will visit Miami Valley Christian Academy for a 6:30 p.m. contest. Milford at Anderson and Walnut Hills at Glen Este both begin at 7 p.m.
