The owners of The Landing Restaurant and Bar, located along the Ohio River in the village of New Richmond, are selling the business after running it for a little more than a year.

Business partners Dennis Hein and Peter Kambelos purchased the restaurant, located at 401 Front St., last July from former owners Joseph and Judy Vogel.

The reason for the sale is not a restaurant issue, according to Tom Dix, a commercial real estate agent for The Everest Group who is managing the listing. Instead, Hein and Kambelos are looking to “redirect their focus.”

“There’s nothing wrong with the restaurant,” Dix said. “As a business, they were very happy with it.”

The restaurant, which has been on the market for four months, according to Dix, is listed at $379,000, reduced from the original asking price of $450,000.

The property is also available for lease.

During their ownership, Hein and Kambelos invested more than $100,000 to renovate the restaurant, which is measured at 5,064 square feet, according to Dix.

Improvements made to the property include new gutters and downspouts, multiple roof repairs and removal of an old chimney, painting of the interior and exterior, a new parking lot with perimeter fencing, landscaping, a new rear deck and ramp, multiple electrical and plumbing upgrades, new exterior lighting, a new kitchen freezer and fryer, new flooring and concrete sidewalk repairs.

“It’s in pristine shape,” Dix said.

With two “strong” interested parties, Dix hopes the business will sell soon, and with little apparent transition.

“The new buyer needs to realize what a staple this is to the community and carry on the tradition,” he said, adding, “We’re going to make the sale happen and make sure it’s done right.”
