In alignment with goIT – a student technology awareness program to introduce young people to the wonders of STEM, TCS brought hands-on STEM learning opportunities to approximately 40 middle schoolers from partner organization, ProCamps.

This two-day challenge exposed student athletes to the world of app development and empowered them to develop their own apps through a two-day challenge.

Day 1 taught students about design thinking, computer programming and challenged them to identify a problem brainstorm solutions.

Day 2 was all about team collaboration and app design. The program culminated with students displaying their apps as they vied for gift cards and bragging rights. Grand prize winners, TempSense, ideated an app for temperature control.

Though not everyone could win, each student walked away better prepared to meet the technology demands of the 21st century and with the confidence that they could pursue a STEM career.

Special thanks to the 15 employee mentors for making this event such a success!
