Eighteen students in the Live Oaks Career Campus Animal Science and Management program scored in the top four statewide in their events at FFA competition in Columbus.

More than 600 Ohio high school students competed in the State FFA Career Development Events on April 13. Top students from the Live Oaks Animal Science program are:

• Animal Management Team, 3rd place: Olivia Miller (Batavia), Chad Pemberton (Batavia), Tyler Conger (Amelia), and Mackenzie Talley (Ohio Connections Academy).

• Aquarium Management Team, 2nd place: Caitlin Elfers (Reading), Cat Whitton (Clermont Northeastern), Caine Jackson (Goshen), and Dylan Pack (Amelia).

• Grooming 1 Team, 1st place: Desire Mendoza (Amelia), Haley Kramer (Glen Este), Sarah Caudill (Clermont Northeastern), and Angel Sharp (Goshen).

• Grooming 2 Team, individual scores: Emmalle Whiting (Clermont Northeastern) came in 2nd and Carla Koch (Batavia) came in 3rd.

• Grooming Overall Team placed 2nd.

• Veterinary Science, 4th place: Haley Donaldson (Anderson), Makenna Weaver (Glen Este), Sam Piening (Glen Este), and Chandy Hill (Glen Este).

The Animal Science and Management program prepares students for college or a career in the care of animals and management of animal facilities.
