School may be out, but learning doesn’t take a break at the Ohio Genealogical Society. Our Summer Sessions are already off to an early start and offer classes and workshops designed to help the novice to the advanced family researcher gain tools to enable them get more from their research efforts. All programs will be held at the Samuel D. Isaly Building, 611 State Route 97 W, Bellville, Ohio except where noted. The sessions are open to the public and are free except where indicated. There will be a pair of two hour workshops designed for OGS chapters/societies slated for June. Saturday, June 11 beginning at 10 a.m., learn how to get the word out by attending one entitled Utilizing Social Media. On Saturday, June 18 at 10 a.m., a workshop on How to Judge a Lineage Application will be held, both will provide important information for your group. With the new Society of Families of the Old Northwest Territory (SFONT) lineage society being inaugurated during the 2017 State Conference at Kalahari in Sandusky, Ohio the latter session can better equip you to assist those in your chapter/society who are considering making an application.
