On Monday, April 4th, Ohio Senate President Keith Faber (R-Celina) appointed Senator Joe Uecker (R-Miami Township) to serve as the Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on State and Local Government.

The committee is primarily charged with improving laws impacting both local municipalities as well as the operations of state government.

“I look forward to working with my colleagues as we continue efforts to make government more efficient while enhancing services for Ohioans,” said Uecker. “I am deeply honored to have been chosen to lead this distinguished committee.”

In addition to the Standing Committee on State and Local Government, Senator Uecker was named to the Senate Medicaid Committee, which is charged with reviewing legislation that works to improve health outcomes, eliminate inefficiencies, and reduce the growing cost of the state’s Medicaid program.

Senator Uecker will continue serving as Chair of the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review, Broadband and Technology Caucus and the Ohio Senate Sportsmen’s Caucus and as a member of the Ohio Aerospace and Aviation Technology Committee. Senator Uecker is also a member of the Senate Committees on Criminal Justice, Energy and Natural Resources, Public Utilities, and the Standing Committee on Transportation, Commerce and Labor.
