Glen Este High School celebrated four student-athletes who participated in the National Letter of Intent Early Signing Period on Nov. 12 during a ceremony held in the school’s East Café.

Two baseball and two softball standouts inked their respective NLI to attend three institutions of higher learning located across Ohio and Kentucky.

Jessica Dmochowski will attend Northern Kentucky University, Brooke Parker will attend Bowling Green State University and Peyton Burdick and Evan Moores will attend Wright State University.

Dmochowski will have earned four varsity letters following her senior season. As the starting catcher for the Lady Trojans, she has been named to the Eastern Cincinnati Conference’s Second Team each of the past two seasons and has been a Scholar Athlete in the league and for Glen Este each year.

Dmochowski was among the top-5 in the ECC last season in batting average, getting a hit over 48 percent of the time. She also had 6 runs batted in, four doubles and scored eight runs in 10 games played in 2014.

Parker, a pitcher and often Dmochowski’s batterymate, has been a three-time First Team All-Conference selection, twice in the ECC as well as in the Fort Ancient Valley Conference following her freshman year. She has also been a Scholar Athlete each year she has been at Glen Este.

In 2014, Parker was one of the best pitchers not only in her conference, but the Southwest Ohio district. Her earned run average of 1.12 was tops in the ECC, while her strike outs (128), wins (12) and innings pitched (113.0) were all top-5.

Parker also did damage outside of the circle, batting .513 with 25 RBI and two home runs. Her 14 doubles tied her for most in the league with Walnut Hills’ Krijn Schwartz. She will play under head coach Shannon Salsburg in 2016.

Burdick, a utility player and pitcher, is a three-sport varsity athlete and will have earned 10 varsity letters by the end of his senior year. Burdick will have played four seasons of varsity baseball and three of football and basketball by graduation.

He has been a two-time First Team All-ECC performer on the diamond as he prepares for his senior season while also being a Scholar Athlete.

During his junior season, Burdick established himself as one of the better pitchers in the league making seven appearances and holding a 2.13 ERA. His 38 strikeouts were third-most in the ECC.

Offensively, Burdick hit .368 with 20 RBI and six extra-base hits.

Moores will be joining Burdick at Wright State as a preferred walk-on. Also a four-year varsity earner in baseball after this season, Moores was a Second Team All-ECC performer last season.

The righthander was also a member of the Trojans’ pitching staff, appearing in six games and posting a 3.28 ERA. Moores’ 32 strikeouts were top-6 in the league and helped propel him to a 3-1 record in 2014.

Moores and Burdick will play under Raiders head coach Greg Lovelady, who begins his 12th season this year.
