The 2014 Clermont County Fair came to a close July 26 after a week of events, entertainment and good weather in Owensville.
“It was a very good fair,” Clermont County Fair Board President Bill Scharber said. “It was a well attended fair.”
Scharber said around 70,000 people attended the fair throughout the week. He said they came just shy of the attendance record on Thursday.
Scharber said the weather turned out to be good for the fair this year.
“As far as rain, it didn’t affect us until 10:30 Saturday night,” Scharber said. “The rest of the time it was good weather.”
Scharber said they added a tractor pull this year and that went well.
Scharber said the best turn out was for the demolition derby on Thursday night. He said the tractor pull Friday night and demolition derby Saturday night were not far behind.
“Thursday night we were just shy of the all-time record,” Scharber said.
Scharber said there were no issues this year when it came to fair operations and safety. He said he enjoyed everyone working together this year.
“The part I liked most this year is all the volunteers and directors working together for a good cause,” Scharber said. “It made it a much more enjoyable fair. Everyone worked together and things worked out great.”
Scharber said the fair board will review all of the numbers and review the 2014 fair at their next meeting.
“Planning for next year has already started,” he said. “We’ll see everybody in 2015.”
