Madison Neth, an incoming 7th grader at the School for Creative and Performing Arts had an impressive run with her musical theater solo routine, entitled “Thatta Way,” winning first place overall at the Kids Artistic Revue (KAR) National dance competition which took place in June 2014 in Toledo.

She was also awarded the Title “Miss Teen Dance” at the KAR regional competition earlier this year in Columbus.

At KAR, winners are announced by playing a clip of the winning routine’s music. It was an emotion-filled moment for Madison.

“I was so excited when I heard my music played for the first place winner. I felt like all of my hard work and dedication throughout the year paid off,” she said.

“Thatta Way” is a fun, upbeat routine, full of personality, which showcases Madison’s high level of technical ability and performance skills. Dancers competing at KAR are judged on their dance technique and performance quality, both of which Madison scored high marks for. She beat out several other dancers for both the first place finish and the Title win.

“Madison is a very talented and beautiful dancer, “ said Anne Kramer, Owner and Artistic Director of Dance Etc. “I’m very proud of her accomplishments this year and am excited to see what her future has in store.”
