Batavia native having standout junior campaign

McNicholas High School junior and Batavia resident first and third baseman Logan Jacobs is having a banner year for the Rockets. The hard-hitting right-hander is batting at a team-high clip of .444 through 14 games.

Jacobs stat line also includes an on-base percentage of .553, tops among batters in the Greater Catholic League Co-Ed Division with at least 10 at bats this season. He has knocked in 10 runs and scored 14 more.

This past week, during which McNicholas won four of their five games, Jacobs had one of his best games of the season in a 20-12 win over Batavia. In six plate appearances, Jacobs drew two walks, hit two doubles, one triple, scored four times and had five RBI.

When the scholastic season wraps up for Jacobs, he will return to his travel ball team, the Flash 17U National Team. Jacobs has played in the Tennessee Smokies High School Showcase last summer and was invited back for their Fall Wood Bat Showcase.

Jacobs hopes to play collegiate baseball and study accounting.
