Mr. Tim Hershner is the new Administrator for Pierce Township, accepting the position during the March 21, 2014 Trustee Meeting. He is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Art, Architecture and Planning, and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning. Experienced in community and economic development, he has been a leader in the private and public sectors, extensively in Clermont County. During 2010-2011 Mr. Hershner led a team of master planners in Afghanistan with responsibilities for two billion dollars worth of U.S. military development projects.

“We led a national search for our next administrator”, said Board Chair Bonnie Batchler, “reviewing sixteen candidates from seven states, all with impressive resumes.” The Board followed a four-step selection process narrowing the field to two candidates. “Through the final interviews Mr. Hershner demonstrated to the Board and our Department Leaders the leadership, master planning experience, and cultural fit we need to take Pierce to the next level” said Trustee Rich Riebel.

“We have a stellar location, beautiful natural environs, supportive residents, great leadership both locally and regionally,” said Mr. Hershner “and most of all a spectacular staff ready to embrace our new culture that will be a springboard to excellence for the long term future of Pierce Township.”

In February Pierce Trustees established a focus on “protecting what we love about Pierce, and progressing what we want for Pierce” with a three-pronged set of priorities:

 Culture of dignity & trust, critical thinking, and achievement,

 Excellence in safety services (Police, Fire/EMS, roads, parks, etc.),

“Pierce 2035” a vision for our future and master plan to get there.

“Pierce is at a critical juncture,” said Trustee Bob Pautke. “We have strong departmental leaders and Tim now joins that team as a leader of leaders. We welcome him with the confidence that he and this team will lead Pierce to its destiny.”

Mr. Hershner assumes his duties immediately.
