Salamander outdoor program to be held at East Fork State Park

Warm, wet evenings in late winter spark a spectacle of epic proportions as hundreds of salamanders journey to pond and pools.

Meet at Horseman’s Parking Lot at East Fork State Park at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15 where Spunky Spotted Salamander will share secrets for searching for these slippery creatures (and a few frogs, too!).

We will hike to a nearby pond to search for salamanders and frogs. Bring a flashlight and dress for the weather and muddy conditions; the program will be held rain or shine. However, severe storms, wintry weather, and/or lightning in the immediate area will cancel this program. Register for this wild evening adventure by calling the Ranger at (513) 797-6081.

All programs are offered free of charge. For more information about this program and to register, please call the Corps Park Ranger at (513) 797-6081 or e-mail Horseman’s Parking Lot is located on the north side of East Fork State Park off Old State Route 32 just before North Shore Boat Ramp. Use the Half Acre Road exit from State Route 32.
