Calvin Hager, 88, died Feb. 21 at Mercy Health Clermont in Batavia.

He was a devoted member of the Covington Lodge #109 of the Scottish Rite and the Syrian Shrine of Cincinnati where he rode in their mounted horse unit. He was a retired employee of Cincinnati Gas and Electric and a United States Army veteran. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved animals.

Hager is survived by his wife Betty of 70 years, children Ann (Kenneth) Wilmhoff and Lois (James) White, grandchildren Elisha and Eric Wilson, Amy Wright, Kristina Monnig, Dave Wilmhoff, Karen Rush and Jenny Seibert, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, sister Lucille Dowd and brother Russell (Rosalee) Hager and many extended relatives.

Visitation 5-7 p.m. Feb. 28 and 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. services March 1 at Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home. Interment at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens. Memorials to Shriners Hospital for Children.
