Clermont County’s 10 high school girls’ basketball teams were shown their road upstate on Sunday, Feb. 2 as the teams were drawn and seeded by the Southwest District Athletic Board.

The teams’ first-round games will be played between Feb. 13 and Feb. 18 at various locations around the area determined by division and drawing.

Among the top-seeded area teams both New Richmond and Felicity-Franklin earned No. 2 seeds in the sectional tournament draw.

The Lady Lions, currently 16-2 overall and 8-1 in the Southern Buckeye Conference, will play interdivisional foe Clermont Northeastern on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 3 p.m. at Withrow High School in the first round of the Division II Withrow Upper sectional. Goshen is also in the Withrow Upper sectional as the No. 7 seed and will play No. 8 Taylor on Friday, Feb. 14 at 6 p.m. at Withrow.

The Lady Cardinals, playing in the Division IV sectional at Monroe High School, drew Lockland, the No. 13 seed. Felicity and Lockland will play on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. for the right to face the winner of Cincinnati Country Day and Middletown Christian on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

Batavia, the fourth local team in the DII Withrow section, will play in the Lower bracket on Tuesday, Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m. against No. 6 seed Hughes. The No. 9-seeded Lady Bulldogs are currently 6-12 on the season and 4-5 in SBC-National play.

Dropping to Division III this year, Bethel-Tate will travel to Wilmington to play their sectional tournament draw. The 8th-seeded Lady Tigers drew familiar opponent Georgetown, the sectional’s top seed, in a first-round matchup slated for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 15. The Lady G-Men beat Bethel-Tate on Jan. 20, 44-32, although three of the Lady Tigers’ starting five sat that game out for disciplinary reasons.

Also in the Wilmington sectional albeit in the Upper bracket is No. 11 seed Williamsburg. The Lady Wildcats will face No. 2 seed Greeneview on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m.

Of the three local teams competing in Division I sectionals, Milford received the highest seed at No. 19. The Lady Eagles will play No. 22-seeded Turpin on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 11:30 a.m. at Kings High School.

Glen Este, seeded 21st, will compete at Lakota East High School and will face No. 23 seed Hamilton on Saturday, Feb. 15 at 1:30 p.m.

Finally, the Amelia Lady Barons, seeded 30th, will compete at Harrison High School on Thursday, Feb. 13 against the fifth seed, Mount Notre Dame.
