Great Oaks offers information sessions for career training

Now is the time to plan a new career in plumbing, medical office management, welding, dental assisting, and other fields. Programs for industry certification in more than a dozen occupations begin at Great Oaks Career Campuses in August, and can be completed by June.

“We encourage people to begin the process now,” said Adult Workforce Development Director Harry Snyder. “Space in the programs is limited, and starting now also allows plenty of time to go through the financial aid process.”

Programs at Great Oaks lead to jobs, too. “At our most recent graduation, more than 80% of our students had secured new jobs before they even walked across the stage,” said Snyder. Great Oaks students can also earn college credit through the Ohio Transfer to Degree Guarantee.

The next information sessions are:

Tuesday, January 28, 3:00 p.m.

Saturday, February 8, 11:00 a.m.

Tuesday, February 11, 3:00 p.m.

Wednesday, February 19, 6:00 p.m.

Tuesday, February 25, 3:00 p.m.

The one-hour session covers program information, job placement assistance, financial aid, online access for test preparation, and a program tour. All sessions are held at the Scarlet Oaks Career Campus, 3254 E. Kemper Road, Sharonville. No reservations are needed.

Programs are available for auto collision technology, dental assisting, electro-mechanical maintenance technology, firefighting, heating/ventilating and air conditioning, industrial diesel mechanics, law enforcement, medical office specialist, plumbing, and welding. Most programs meet in the evening and can be completed in 42 weeks. Financial aid is available.
