Business owners and employees from around the Cincinnati area will make their way to Clermont County Oct. 29 to learn more about technology and innovation in the workplace.

The Business Technology Summit will be held at the Holiday Inn in Eastgate and will feature lectures from industry professionals as well as several group sessions.

John Melvin, director of the Small Business Development Center for the Clermont County Chamber of Commerce, said the summit will feature a variety of topics including data analytics, cyber security, mobile marketing, visual social media, loyalty programs, and more.

Speakers at the event include Stuart Aitken with dunhumby USA, Michael Schroeck with IBM and other industry professionals presenting in breakout sessions.

“They are going to get business insight into what is available, but more importantly how to effectively utilize it in their space,” Melvin said about what those attending should expect.

Melvin said business owners will also be able to see and use the latest technology first hand.

“We believe this is going to foster new ideas and assist in strategic planning for companies,” Melvin said.

Melvin said he the summit will also give individuals an opportunity to network and discuss similar challenges and solutions at their businesses.

Melvin said they are targeting managers of small to medium-sized businesses who need to build technological changes into their strategies.

He said they are hosting the event to promote change and innovation in the region.

“The world is constantly changing and business opportunities change with that,” Melvin said. “We have to keep up with the changes that are being demanded in society.”
