The transportation department at Batavia Local School District is ready to go, and board of education members have approved bus routes for the 2013-2014 school year.

Jake Knapp, transportation director for Batavia and Williamsburg school districts, updated board members on transportation during their Aug. 19 meeting.

“We’ve been at it all summer,” Knapp said about getting busses and bus routes ready for the year.

Knapp said Williamsburg students went back last week so they focused on the Williamsburg routes first and then the Batavia routes.

He said they completed Batavia routes this past weekend.

“Routes are pretty much the same this year,” Knapp said.

He said they have also been working to get the busses ready for the school year.

“All busses passed inspection,” Knapp said.

Knapp said busses are already being used for athletic department transportation.

Knapp said coaches are able to go online and fill out travel requests for their sports teams.

He said making the process digital has helped him be able to better complete and organize travel requests.

Batavia Board of Education members approved the bus routes this year during their meeting.
