Kenneth Alvin Kinner, 67, of Jacksonville, Alabama, died July 14 at his home.

Kinner served his country for 14 years in the U.S. Navy and for seven years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a JSU Alumnus and marched with the Southerners of JSU.

He was preceded in death by father Elmer “Boots” Kinner, mother Catherine Kinner Crawford, sister Katie Crawford, and Marilyn S. Kinner, the mother of his sons Sean and Brian.

Kinner is survived by his love and life partner of the last 12 years Joan Hixon, sons Sean Michael Kinner and Brian Eugene (Kristina) Kinner, grandchildren Sydney and Logan Kinner, stepdaughters Lori Enslen and Lane Eyestone, brothers Lou Kinner and Michael Kinner of Batavia, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation from 10-11 a.m. July 20 at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. Memorial service with full military honors held 11 a.m. July 20 at the funeral home.
