Staff report

A 22-year-old woman was killed after she was involved in a crash that occurred on state Route 132 in Owensville June 26.

Preliminary investigation by the Ohio State Highway Patrol indicates that Amber Kelch, of Moscow, was driving a black Ford Fusion south on 132, and while she was negotiating a curve to the right she slid left of center.

According to a release from the state patrol post, Kelch’s car hit a 2005 Mack dump truck, driven by Scott Williams, 49, of Seaman, head on.

Kelch was pronounced dead at the scene. She was transported by the Clermont County Coroner.

Kelch had her 8-month-old son in the vehicle with her. The infant was in a child safety seat in the back seat. The infant was transported to Children’s Hospital by Stonelick Township EMS with non life-threatening injuries.

The collision with the truck caused Kelch to be trapped in the car. Stonelick Township EMS used mechanical assistance to remove Kelch from the vehicle. Kelch was wearing her seat belt, and alcohol is not suspected in the crash.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
