Goshen resident Gary Collins, 72, suffered a life-threatening head injury when he was struck by an airplane propeller Thursday, June 20.

According to Goshen Police Chief Ray Snyder, Collins was about to fly the plane from a private airfield on East Huntley Road in Goshen Township when the accident occurred.

Collins’ longtime girlfriend found him injured at the scene around 5:30 p.m. It is believed that Collins had laid there undiscovered for several hours.

Collins is still in critical condition at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
